— A Nationwide Showdown in Search of Taiwan’s Strongest Beef Noodle Champion —

To promote Taipei’s specialty beef noodle industry, an initiative now in its 22nd year, this year’s “2026 Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival” is themed “King of Taiwan: Nationwide Battle for the Taiwan Beef Noodle Champion.” In addition to holding a three-day competition at Yuanshan Expo Park from October 9 to 11, the festival will, for the first time, expand the competition by hosting preliminary rounds in both Northern and Southern Taiwan before the final round, where Gold, Silver, and Bronze Award winners will be selected. From today (July 8) through August 9, top chefs and leading beef noodle restaurants from across Taiwan are invited to compete in two divisions: the Freshly Prepared Category (Braised and Clear Broth) and the Prepared Meal Pack Category. In addition to the expanded regional preliminaries, this year also marks the first time the competition will offer total prize money of up to NT$200,000 to reward the Gold Award winners. Beef noodle restaurants from all over Taiwan are warmly invited to sign up—who will be crowned the Beef Noodle Champion is sure to be worth watching!

In addition, internationally renowned Korean celebrity chef Jung Ji-sun, a star of Culinary Class Wars, has been specially invited to travel to Taiwan to serve as the goodwill ambassador for the “2026 Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival,” helping promote Taiwanese beef noodles while fostering culinary exchange. At the recruitment press conference, nearly 60 award-winning restaurants from previous years gathered on site to showcase their most popular signature beef noodle dishes. With such an impressive lineup and the aroma of outstanding beef noodles filling the venue, it was enough to make anyone crave a steaming bowl on the spot.

Registration for this year’s “King of Taiwan: Nationwide Battle for the Taiwan Beef Noodle Champion” officially opens today. Any beef noodle restaurant holding a business registration, company registration, or proof of business operation may apply. Entries will be judged on five criteria: taste, presentation, creativity, hygiene, and price. Top beef noodle restaurants from across Taiwan are invited to go head-to-head and compete for the title.
